Make Money With Misspelled Keywords

Posted by Josef Sawyer under Free Methods

Misspelled Keywords can be a gold mine for traffic! You can often find keywords with practically zero competition yet get 1000s of searches per day! This is a very good method for generating targeted traffic very easily and although the clicks onto your results on the search engine results pages may be lower the amount of traffic and lack of competition will more than make up for it. So all you need to do is create a optimized page, ping it so Google indexes it and then watch the traffic come in! There are many different tricks you can use to find mispelled keywords to rank and there are a couple of key points you need to know about.

Finding Your Keywords:

This is the easiest part of this method, now what you need to do is start with your main keyword and use the typo tool which can be downloaded at the bottom of the page by members - you can sign up here. Then after you have installed the software onto your webserver you just enter your keyword into the text box.

However if you don’t have a keyword then you can use the Google Search Keyword Tool - http://www.google.com/sktool and browse through all of the categories until you find your niche or a keyword which you can use to.I am going to use the example of Dreamweaver - which is in the category Computers / Computer Software / Graphics Multimedia Software. After you have generated these keywords copy and then paste them into the Google Adwords Keyword Tool - https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal then sort by searches, make sure you don’t click the use synonyms option as you want the exact search data. Now you have a list of keywords, I tend to go for ones with a search rate of above 600 a month, which translates to 20 extra visitors per day! Now you have your list of keywords you are ready to move on to the next step. The keywords I managed to find were “creamweaver” and “freamweaver”. These two keywords total 1000+ searches per month!

Creating Your Pages:

This is the most important part of this method. You need to be able to place your typo keyword in as many places as possible on your pages without confusing your visitors and losing clicks onto your search engine result. The best way to do this is to place the keywords in places the visitor won’t see that often but the search engine spiders will. I don’t mean keyword stuffing but place your typo keyword in these places:

  • Meta Tags - Although not much weight is placed on this, especially by Google, due to the lack of the competition it will make a big difference when compared to the other sites who haven’t optimized for the keyword.
  • Image Alt Tags - This can be useful as you can generate traffic from typos on Google Images - which is another great traffic source I will go into more detail on later.
  • In The Description - After 160 characters Google will not show the text on the serps so if you place your typo keyword after this limit the spiders will register it and visitors won’t see the typo.
  • In The URL/Filename - This is a risky one as it can reduce the number of clicks you get onto your site as the viewer is more likely to realize his misspelling and type in the correct spelling.
  • In The Content - If you can place the keyword subtly into your content then use it as it, if you can place it in bold tags or a h2/h3 tag that will make it even better but again you risk making your visitors getting confused and leaving.
